Hi Friend! It’s me, Savannah!
Happy New Year
I can’t believe it has already been an entire month of 2021! Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, God has been challenging me with ways to make meaningful connections to others.
Personally, my fast-paced life has wreaked havoc on my personal relationships, in addition to the socially distanced lifestyles we have had to bear. It became very obvious during the pandemic that I need connections. I knew that I was craving the closeness of my people desperately. I felt God’s whisper to find a way to intentionally connect with my people.
As simple as a smile at someone walking next to you, a friendly wave or an intentional “how are you?” naturally gives others a feeling of care. God uses us to shape others. I know that I have felt most confident, joy-filled, meaningful and rich in love when I have intentionally nourished my relationships. Just like Paul tells the church in Ephesus, that they are rooted in love. A tree rooted in the ground taking in nutrients to grow, our relationships bring about connectedness when they are genuinely cared for.
Here are some practical ways to find connectedness in the midst of a pandemic:
- Write a card or a letter to a friend
- Call a friend to just talk
- Join a Virtual Book Club
- Schedule a virtual meeting to just enjoy virtual company
We are grateful to have you a part of our community!
